A wild guess here. Could masculinity be so fragile because young boys today don't compete in sports, they get trophies for just showing up, and don't know the meaning of resilience? Are their overprotective parents them and making them fragile? Are we raising a generation of young men that feel entitled to everything (money, women, sex, etc.) without having to work for it?
