Fellow late bloomer here, and I feel like you just read my mind! I'm 61, no sibs, no kids, married late, and the question "Who will take care of me when I'm old?" tends to occupy my thoughts (in not good ways either!) I love your spirit and attitude, and instead of going dark, I think I'll make my future shine, just like you said.
