I call it the "Participation Award" generation. They get rewarded for essentially not putting forth any effort or doing the work. They don't know the meaning of pain, suffering, or rejection because they never had to face it. Then they wonder why life's so tough when they grow up. This is happening to girls too. We're raising kids without skills for real life. I have friends whose kids don't know how to cook, won't clean, and refuse to learn how to drive--and they're in the early 20s!
