I say this as someone who got married later in life: If you can't do all the things single people do while you're married (enjoy solitude, independence, travel, have friends, and live authentically) then you're with the wrong spouse. It's not marriage's fault.

"Don’t blame the game, blame the player," as they say. A good partner will let you be everything you want to be and celebrate you for it.
