I think women of a certain age (over 50?) have a certain notion of how the courting process should go. Back then men made the first move, and if we were interested, we accepted their overtures. It was all very charming and romantic, but we're living in different dating times now, and the game has changed.

I have some clients in that demo, and it's like teaching them a new language or dance step. They're not used to initiating.

I think the writer is pining for the good old days, but in the process, she berates men. Not an effective approach!
