Most people aren't mind readers; most won't know if you want to be left alone unless you're wearing a shirt that says "Leave me alone."

What are clear, visible nonverbal cues to you?

If you want to avoid interaction, why go out at all?

No one has the right to get to know you, but you can't blame them for trying. Last time I checked, approaching a person in a respectful, tactful, non-threatening way isn't a crime, it's actually a compliment--at least it is to me and I'm 60!

Bottom line: both men and women need to read signs/cues/signals the best they can, and remember it's not always wanted or welcomed.
