Your article hit home for me. I too, bought into all the marriage propaganda, expectations and pressure, feeling less than and ashamed because I couldn't make it happen. Much like you, I gave up and it freed me. I would've still been a happy single to this day, but I met someone completely by happenstance and got married. I was 51.
